GWAR Frontman Calls ROB ZOMBIE 'Plagiaristic' And 'Uninspired'
October 12, 2010Musicpix.net recently conducted an interview with GWAR frontman Oderus Urungus. You can now watch the chat below. A couple of excerpts follow.
On LORDI:
"Did you see how the guys from LORDI threw out their drummer because he took his costume off? See, if they just were like GWAR, they wouldn't have to wear costumes, they could just be themselves."
On Rob Zombie:
"I think Rob Zombie is, like, the most plagiaristic, uninspired... 'Let's remake 'Halloween'... Let's steal everything from 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' and put in my movie and pretend like it's mine.' If they would step up and let GWAR, which has been the most consistently awesome force in shock-rock for 25 fucking years, let GWAR make a fucking movie about... about GWAR, and it would be super-cool . . . We'd love to just shake our magic dick wand and make a movie, but unfortunately, these things cost millions of dollars to do and I have a crack habit to support, which is fucking pretty considerable. But if Rob Zombie was willing to spend his money, I would let him make a movie about me."
TheRave.com will be streaming a live GWAR concert on Halloween — Sunday, October 31 — from the Rave/Eagles Club in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The webcast will begin at 11 p.m. ET / 10 p.m. CT. The stream will allow fans around the world to view GWAR's backstage preparation to enter the blood-soaked battlefield that is the insanity of GWAR's infamous live shows, plus footage of the bloody scum dogs who survived, and backstage after the show where GWAR revels in their killing field victories.
GWAR lead singer Oderus Urungus says about the broadcast, "We will be offering the entire human race the chance to see our Halloween show in Milwaukee via the Internet… That's right — a pay-per-view first-hand worldwide ringside seat to our sickest show this year and for a reasonable price as well."
Tickets for this exclusive stream are $2.99 if you order before October 15, $3.99 if you order between October 16-30 and $4.99 the day of the broadcast.
